Impromptu helps you find events, restaurants, and things to do within walking distance of where you are. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In plain terms: Impromptu has no accounts, no servers of its own, and does not collect or store your personal data.
When you allow it, Impromptu uses your device's location to find places and events near you. Your approximate location (latitude and longitude) is sent directly from your device to our data providers — Google Places and Ticketmaster — solely to return nearby results for that request. Your location is not saved by Impromptu, is not stored on any server we operate (we operate none), and is never sold or shared with advertisers. If you deny location access, the app falls back to a default neighborhood and still works.
Impromptu contains no analytics or advertising trackers, and never sells or shares your information. What is stored depends on whether you create an account, which is entirely optional — the app works fully without one.
Without an account. Nothing is collected. Items you save (“hearts”) and your preferences stay on your device and are never transmitted anywhere. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number.
With an account. We store your email address, the places you save, and your tailoring preferences, so they follow you between devices. That is all — no name, no phone number, no location history, and no profile is built from your activity. Account data is held by Supabase, our database provider, and is readable only by you.
Deleting your account. You can permanently delete your account and everything stored with it from inside the app: tap the account button in the top right, then choose “Delete account”. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
To show real, verifiable places and events, Impromptu sends requests to these services, which have their own privacy practices:
Impromptu is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
